The Application Process

Our role is to match the student to the placement that will enable him/her to have an educational, enjoyable and safe time in Ireland.

Individuals - One person who can come to Ireland for at least 12 weeks. Individuals can come independently, as part of a school or through a partner organisation. Our individual fees apply. Check with us for the current rate.

Groups- At least five people who are coming to Ireland at the same time and where we can liase with one person. Normally our groups come from agricultural vocational schools in Europe and we liase with a teacher there. The applicants can choose to be placed in the same sector but on different farms or in different areas of the agricultural industry. For example we could welcome a group of ten Dairy students or it could be a group of ten students with some looking for a dairy placement, others hoping to work in mixed farms and others to work with horses. Check with us for the current rate. The rate usually depends on the number of applicants you are sending us and if you require any extra services from us such as orientation seminars, sightseeing or other.

Step 1
Once you have an applicant who is suitable for the programme, ask them to complete the application form neatly and in pen, accompanied by a motivation letter and as much information as possible about themselves. For Horse applicants we also need photos. We require at least one reference to say that the applicant is recommendable for a placement in Ireland. The application must be sent to us at least 8 weeks in advance of placement.

Try to give us as much notice as possible as we are usually working a couple of months in advance. Please make sure that the application form and motivation letter are neat and tidy as this is what the hosts base their information on.

Step 2
We will work at matching the student with the placements available at that time. As soon as we have a suitable host lined up we will then send you a placements advice detailing the placement and giving contact details. We will found this match on the information we have received on the application form so please make sure it is accurate.

Step 3
If the applicant is happy with this placement then the student accepts it by signing the bottom of the placement advice and you, or they, email it back to us. We will then send you our invoice with our bank details. This must be paid before they arrive into Ireland.

Step 4
You/the student book flights and notify us of their arrival into Ireland. We will then send you travel arrangements detailing how the applicant can get from the airport to the host family. We will be at the airport to meet groups and will ensure that they get on to the right bus or train. The host will then meet the student at the local bus/train station on the other end.
